The ancient demon deity is being mentioned again in the mainstream by many in reference to Pam Bondi and her relation to sex trafficking children and victims is a lesser, even insignificant issue than the growth in the stock market being at an all time high.
This statement has made many, including popular mainstream Comedians like Tim Dillon to reference her to Moloch or Baal Worship in which the original Hebrew Israelites in the Old Testament were warned not to take on the deity of the Canaanites/Phoenicians and apostate Israelites.
In the Bible, Baal was primarily worshiped by Canaanites, Phoenicians, and, during periods of apostasy, the Israelites. Widespread worship among Israelites was led by King Ahab and his wife Jezebel in the 9th century BC, with many people participating in rituals, including sacrifices, giving their children to temple prostitution and child/infant sacrifice.
They worshiped Moloch/Baal by burning children on the heated cow/bull alter to sacrifice them to the god for wealth, prosperity and good vibes.
Tim Dillon references it, because it has gone mainstream in social media circles, in his Tim Dillon Show episode #483 appropriately titled “Bondi, Baal, and the Dow”.
I find it interesting and wanted to not that this is now mainstream.
